Efficient end-to-end sample management and tracking is an important aspect within clinical trials. Knowing the exact location of a sample at any stage benefits sites, study teams and sponsors, and saves valuable time and resources.

LabView360 is a new, custom designed application from ICON that streamlines end-to-end sample management, delivering numerous benefits and efficiencies. In time, this application will digitise the entire chain of custody, delivering maximum visibility and control throughout the process.

The first release of LabView360* includes a new digital requisition process that will simplify the real-time collection and registering of samples.

Site personnel can log in and create, search and edit both subject and visit data, benefitting from built-in data validations that help to ensure the correct data has been entered.

During the sample requisition process they can utilise the device's camera to scan barcodes on the visit kit to automatically access the right study and confirm sample collection.

Eliminating paper requisition forms

All data entry is completed via the application, removing the need to fill out paper requisition forms which can be time consuming and prone to error.

Reducing data entry time

Digital requisitioning speeds up data entry for site investigators and removes the need for manual data entry when samples arrive at the ICON laboratory.

Improving quality of data collection

During the sample requisition process, they can utilise the device’s camera to scan barcodes on the visit kit to automatically access the right study and confirm sample collection.

Preventing incomplete data entry

Site personnel can log in and create, search and edit both subject and visit data, benefitting from built-in validations that help to ensure the correct data has been entered. The site user will need to acknowledge and confirm if mandatory containers were not collected during the visit.

Reducing query investigation and resolution

Reduces or eliminates the need for ICON lab personnel to spend unnecessary time resolving discrepancies in the requisition data with site investigators (due to unclear handwriting and/or missing information.)

Future enhancements

The new digital requisitioning features in Labview360’s first release are only the beginning. Future roadmap plans include:

Third party barcode and enhanced bulk supply support for easier kit management
